DFW Tri Club loves to partner with local and national organizations that are committed to making a difference for the better in others’ lives. Here are a few partner organizations that our members are involved with.
Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a national, for-purpose 501(c)3 organization that uses running to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make real change that results in employment and independent living. In an effort to encourage positive change and support self-sufficiency, Back on My Feet Dallas follows a carefully-designed and closely-monitored running program in which Residential Members (individuals who are experiencing homelessness and are residing at one of Back on My Feet Dallas’ partner facilities) participate for six to nine months. Residential Members run three days a week at 5:30 a.m., while they work with staff and Non-Residential Members (volunteers) who help them set and achieve mileage goals while building critical interpersonal relationships that provide support for Residential Members to succeed.
In 2013 Residential Members have collectively run over 7,600 miles. From the chapter launch in 2011 to year end 2013, our members have run over 23,000 miles! Want to learn more about our amazing organization? Watch this video Video and visit our site to start volunteering today! Website
Heroes for Children advocates for and provides financial and social assistance to families with children (0-22 yrs of age) battling cancer. Their vision is that no family with a child battling cancer will fight alone. The Heart of Gold 5K & Fun Run is a fundraiser for Heroes for Children. The event is held in September to recognize and promote Childhood Cancer Awareness Month within the community. A variety of entertainment, prizes and awards, giveaways, food, and music is provided. There is also a children’s area with bounce houses, face painting, clowns, characters and much more.

Lets take Thanksgiving back! This race is a non-commercial way to give thanks for our bodies, our families, our friends, and our communities… all while also giving hope to those who struggle. Please consider spreading the word and maybe even donating to our cause as we direct our first annual race.
