Swim Basics Class
Calling all First Timer and Beginner Swimmers!! This is your opportunity to get acclimated to the “tri swimming” world. Intimidated by what you don’t know? Perfect, you will feel right at home.
This is the ideal class for the true beginner and for those who are uncomfortable at group swim workouts. We cover all of the basics from A to Z, including what to wear, gear and how to use it, swim lingo & jargon, tips & drills for breathing, putting your face in the water, how to freestyle swim, how to swim more effectively and more! We use video recordings to show you what you look like on the spot.
By the end of this 3-Day class, you will be armed with the knowledge of what good technique looks like, along with a deep understanding of the drills that will help you accomplish that. Therefore, you will feel more confident when you go to a pool by yourself or a Masters Swim after graduation.
Also included: Homework Swims (to help you practice the skills you learned in between classes) and a detailed Beginning Swimmer’s Handbook.

Sunday, January 29th 3 – 4:15 p.m. – Breathing and Balance
Sunday, February 12th 3 – 4:00 p.m. – Balance and Stroke
Sunday, February 19th 3 – 4:00 p.m. – Stroke and Rotation

Individual class – $40 for nonmembers, $30 for club members
All 3 classes – $100 for nonmembers, $75 for club members
Required: You will need to bring swim goggles and a snorkel. If you don’t already have a snorkel, you can buy one at your friendly neighborhood Tri Shop or swim store, or you can find them on Amazon. If you don’t do well breathing in a snorkel, you may also want to bring a nose clip.
Highly Recommended: Zoomers/Fins (You do not need to bring these, but it’s likely they’ll help you during at times the class.)
